On Saturday, May 31, children and their families will have the opportunity to step into the Magical World of Puppets at the Veliki Tabor Castle in Desinić – a rich all-day program of puppet shows brought to you by Kruna Tarle and her collaborators, the theater groups LOFT, UO Clou and Ioculatori.

The program includes five shows, spread throughout the day, each with its own magic, message and artistic value.

Schedule of shows:

  • 11:30 – Babies are great! (Loft)
  • 12:30 – The Legend of Veronica Desinić (Ioculatori)
  • 13:30 – What Daddy Does is Always Right (Kruna Tarle)
    Performer break – lunch
  • 15:30 – Dragon's Treasure (Ioculatori)
  • 16:00 – Moris (LOFT + UO Clou)

Featured shows:

🔸 Babies are great! – an interactive play for children aged 6 months and above, created as part of the Born to Read program of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. Through music, colors, blocks and puppets, it invites children to their first theatrical experience.

🔸 The Legend of Veronica of Desinić – the medieval traveling puppet theater Ioculatori brings an exciting story of court intrigue and forbidden love between Frederick of Celje and Veronica Desinić. The play for all ages, in the spirit of old times, revives one of the most famous Croatian legends.

🔸 Dragon's Treasure – a witty and imaginative play about the knight Yuri who, after saving the princess from the dragon's nest, very quickly begins to question his heroism. Meet the spoiled princess, the dragon in love and a whole series of surprises! The play is intended for elementary and high school students, but also for adults who enjoy a good story.

🔸 What Daddy Does Is Always Right – based on Andersen’s fairy tale, the play opens up important topics about tolerance, different values ​​and what makes us truly happy. The interactive performance encourages conversation with children – and us adults. The play is intended for elementary school students.

🔸 Morris – an emotional and topical play for lower grades of elementary school, based on the picture book Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress. It follows a boy who does not fit into stereotypes, but does not give up his dreams, creativity and identity.


Admission is charged according to the regular price list of Veliki Tabor Castle, and a paid ticket includes a tour of the museum exhibition and watching all the plays.
