The Magical World of Puppets in Veliki Tabor Castle

On 22 June 2024, fans of puppet theater had the opportunity to attend the event "The Magical World of Puppets" in Veliki Tabor Castle.
There were three shows performed by the art organization KRUNA TARLE-art and the puppetry organization Loft from Zagreb. In the play "Iš'o Viljo u dućan", Morana Dolenc brought tasks such as successfully crossing the road closer to children for whom everyday life is otherwise equivalent to fantasy. Through the elements of the well-known short story "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", Tena Šnajder taught the audience about the richness of nature and the importance of family in the play "The Forest of Stories". The aim of these interactive plays, which asked young viewers to engage in dialogue, is to introduce children to the magical world of theater in the best possible way. The play "Cow on the Closet" was performed by Patrik Gregurec, Magda Henok, Tomislav Rožić. Although it is intended primarily for children, its humor and messages have attracted the attention of adults as well.

There was also a performance by the medieval puppet troupe Ioculators, whose members are employees of the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje. Andrea Brlobuš, Paul Lekaj and Siniša Žnidarec performed the play "Legend of Veronika Desinićka". The play tells the most famous story related to Veliki Tabor, that of the nobleman Fridrik Celjski who falls in love with the beautiful Veronika.

Visitors who joined the educational and artistic workshops had the opportunity to actively participate in the program. The workshop participants rolled up their sleeves and made their own puppets and masks, thus trying out what it's like to be "behind the scenes" of puppet shows.
