Veliki Tabor Castle participated in the event ”Veronikafest”

Last Friday and Saturday, September 1 and 2, 2023, Veliki Tabor Palace participated in the second edition of the cultural and tourist event Veronikafest in Desinić with a special program.

On Friday, two educational and entertainment workshops were held: "Shooting with a medieval bow and arrow" and "Veronika memory", led by Palace employees Andrea Brlobuš and Kristina Pavlović. Through these workshops, visitors tried their hand at medieval skills and learned about the oral tradition of the unhappy love of the lower noblewoman Veronika Desinić and the nobleman Frederick II of Celje, and then played the board game memory.

Saturday's program included another educational and entertainment workshop dedicated to this oral tradition. It is the workshop "In the footsteps of Veronika Desinić". Workshop leader Renata Dečman introduced the participants to the legend of Veronica Desinić and its historical background, and then the attendees tested their knowledge by competing in a quiz and solving worksheets with various tasks such as crosswords, eight-way puzzles and labyrinths. For the first time, the entertaining game "Blame or Free!" was performed, created according to the script of senior restoration technician Andrea Brlobuš. During the medieval trial of Veronica Desinić, the museum staff was joined by numerous visitors who took on the roles of witness, jury, prosecutor, defense attorney, accused Veronica and executioner, and had a great time. At the end of the program, visitors of all ages watched the humorous puppet show "The Legend of Veronica Desinić" performed by Ioculator, starring Andrea Brlobuš, Siniša Žnidarec and Paul Lekaj.
