40th ”Zagorje Wedding” Manifestation

The fact that old customs should be cherished was demonstrated by the great satisfaction of the numerous Saturday visitors to the most famous village in the world.

As an overture, we saw the children of the Jaglac Kindergarten, and at the end, a concert by the Ivan Goran Kovačić Folklore Ensemble from Zagreb.

The central event, the Zagorje Wedding, was traditionally performed by the Kumrovec Ethno Association Zipka, with the help of the Brv klapa, the Sotelia vocal group, the Vrtnjakovec Women's Association and the Ulika cultural and artistic group from the fraternaltown of Fažana. The Kumrovec Pensioners' Association provided the delicious wedding cakes.

Before the folklorists' performance, everyone present was greeted by the head of the "Old Village" Museum Kumrovec Anita Paun Gadža. The visitors were also addressed by the Prefect of the Krapina-Zagorje County Željko Kolar, the Mayor of the Kumrovec Municipality Robert Šplajt and a representative of the city of Fažana.
