”Kajbumščak trail” – start and finish at Hušnjakovo

This year, the competitors of the Kajbumščak Trail race gathered at Hušnjakov. The race leads along the paths along which the Krapina Neanderthal man, Dedek Kajbumščak, ran and walked 130 thousand years ago, searched for and invented tools, hunted cave bears, moose, deer, rhinos, collected berries...

The start and finish of the race were right in front of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, and from Hušnjakovo and the valley of the winding Krapinčica River (170 m), the race takes competitors along the undulating peaks of the surrounding hills all the way to the peaks of Strahinjčica (846 m), Brezovica (581 m) and back.

The organizer of the race is TK Maraton Krapina, and along with good music and other entertainment, competitors could get a 50% discount on the ticket to the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, tour the permanent exhibition with a free expert guide, and play the museum game Play and Evolve in the prehistoric park.
