”Krapina in the Heart” - animation workshops at Hušnjakovo

Krapina Neanderthal Museum

As part of the program marking the 830th anniversary of the first mention of Krapina, called Krapina in the Heart, animation workshops were held at the Krapina Museum.

After learning about the history of the city of Krapina and visiting important cultural and historical sites such as the Old Town, Hušnjakovo and Dolac with museum employees Lorka Lončar Uvodić and Eduard Vasiljević on the first day, multiple award-winning animator Ivana Bošnjak introduced children to the stop-motion animation technique at an animation workshop on the second and third day. Under her guidance, the participants came up with their own story, created the set and characters, and finally filmed or animated them. The main characters such as the Black Queen and Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger were made of plasticine and became part of short but interesting stories inspired by the Old Town and the discovery of a prehistoric man on Hušnjakovo. The edited film made by the children at the Krapina Museum will be shown on the occasion of European Heritage Day in October and at the KIKI Festival - an international children's film festival.

The Krapina in the Heart program was realized in cooperation with the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, the City of Krapina and the organizers of the KIKI Festival - the Gokul Association and DND Zabok.
