Prehistoric masks in the Krapina Neanderthal Museum
This year, the children in the Krapina museum had the opportunity to prepare for the carnival - a time of cheerful disguise, freedom and creativity. The children who came to the workshop made masks inspired by prehistoric times, mostly Neanderthals and skull C - the most famous Krapina skull, but also their favorite dinosaurs. At the workshop, they also learned some interesting facts from the history of masking. That's how they learned that the oldest masks were made of stone, that there are theater, dance, warrior and carnival masks, and they liked the golden mask of King Agamemnon the most. Each participant of the workshop took home two masks, so in the Krapina carnival parade you will meet some bearded primitive man and a scary dinosaur!
The head of the workshop was senior museum pedagogue Lorka Lončar Uvodić, and curator Nikolina Ileković also joined in the implementation.
