The Krapina Neanderthal Museum has won another prestigious award. It is an international Big SEE award that is usually awarded in the categories of architecture, interior design, product design, fashion design, tourism design and wood design.
The Krapina Museum, competing against 45 candidates, won the Tourism Design Award 2023 in the tourism design category, which was ceremonially accepted by the director of the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje, Jurica Sabol, as part of the Design Week in Ljubljana. The award is another in a series of major recognitions that confirm the value and significance of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum as a guardian and presenter of cultural and natural heritage of European and global importance.
The museum with a unique site, the Krapina Neanderthal site of Hušnjakovo, has proudly worn the European Heritage Label for seven years, and two years ago it was awarded the first prize in the category of archaeological sites and museums at the 14th General Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe.
