The ”Old Village” Museum in Kumrovec was visited by employees of the Hungarian Open Air Museum from Szentendre

”Old Village” Museum

On Friday, February 28, 2025, we hosted colleagues from the Szentendre Open-Air Museum from Hungary. The reason for the visit was the opening of additional content - Makerspace, so the emphasis during the tour was placed on the way of establishing cooperation with experts in traditional skills, the presentation of crafts and museum-educational programs in the "Old Village" Museum Kumrovec.

Curator Tihana Kušenić toured the permanent exhibitions with them and highlighted the specificity of the "Old Village" Museum Kumrovec as the largest in situ museum in Croatia, which presents visitors with the way of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

During the tour of the museum, our long-time external collaborators, masters of traditional crafts and skills, presented traditional crafts. We also talked about the project CRAFTATTRACT - Traditional crafts as new attractions for cultural tourism, during which we established new collaborations with experts in traditional heritage.

Colleagues from Hungary were also presented with the museum-educational program for children and adults, Make a Pot(tery), led by curator and educator Mateja Harapin.
