The Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas of Nature of the Krapina-Zagorje County Zagorje zeleno and the Krapina Neanderthal Museum presented the brochure How to Contribute to Nature Conservation - 20 Tips on April 24, 2025 and officially opened the photo exhibition Nature Connections in the lobby of the Museum.

With this event, we marked the 20th anniversary of the Public Institution Zagorje zeleno, Planet Earth Day and Krapina-Zagorje County Day. The attendees were addressed by Dijana Hršak, Director of the Public Institution Zagorje zeleno, Jasna Petek, Deputy Prefect of the Krapina-Zagorje County, Eduard Vasiljević, Head of the Museum, and Ivana Vučić, Graphic Designer.

The brochure How to Contribute to Nature Conservation - 20 Tips points out the importance of nature conservation and provides simple and effective advice on how to make a hotel for beneficial insects, set up birdhouses, how to use less pesticides, and the like. In this way, we help wildlife, responsibly use natural resources and promote horticultural habits that contribute to biodiversity. The Nature Connections exhibition was created as a result of project activities and collected multimedia content during 2019 and 2020 within the framework of the project of the same name from the Interreg SLO-HR program.

The exhibition includes 20 carefully selected photographs that depict the natural beauty and diversity of five prominent areas: Sutla, Kupa, Risnjak National Park, Radensko polje and Kamačnik Canyon. The photographs shown are signed by Mario Jurina and Domagoj Sever, and show a fraction of the exceptional natural beauty and biodiversity.

The participants were awarded 20 valuable prizes - birdhouses and hedgehog houses, bird feeders, a hotel for beneficial insects, canvas bags, T-shirts, pots, stickers Watch out for the frog, hedgehog and otter, and the book Zagorje zeleno.

The Nature Connections exhibition can be viewed at the Krapina Neanderthal Museum until September 2025.
