Night of Fortresses in Veliki Tabor Castle brings a spectacle with knightly battles, fire and legends

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the event Night of Fortresses revives the magic of the past in the unique ambiance of Veliki Tabor Castle. The program begins at 12 o'clock, and visitors can expect a rich evening filled with history, legends and attractive activities for all generations.

During the event, visitors will be able to participate in medieval games and workshops, try their hand at archery and calligraphy, and take part in the search for secret treasure.

The evening will be additionally marked by a spectacular battle of knights for the Golden Chalice, as well as an impressive fire show of the Order of Knights of the Golden Chalice under the night sky.

As part of the program, a visiting exhibition of The Međimurje County Museum in Čakovec entitled Woolly Mammoths: Giants of the Ice Age will also be opened.

For the youngest, but also for all those looking for fun, workshops and games organized by the Company of the Golden Hops have been prepared - a demonstration of medieval cuisine and a tavern, a board game workshop and archery.

The duo Mateja and Matej will provide the musical atmosphere from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
