Workshop ”In the Footsteps of Dinosaurs” held
This Sunday, the little researchers gathered at the Krapina Neanderthal Museum for a workshop called In the Footsteps of Dinosaurs.
In a cheerful atmosphere, they shared interesting facts about these unusual prehistoric reptiles, and then learned a lot about dinosaur footprints in Istria. On a large map, following the instructions of a paleontologist, they marked the places where dinosaur footprints were found, and they also learned what sauropod and theropod footprints look like, what dinoturbation is, what ichnofossils are, and what they reveal. After that, as a reminder of what they had learned, the children made their own plaster tiles depicting Istria with dinosaur footprints.
The little participants in this educational and creative workshop also studied the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur in the permanent museum exhibition.
The workshop was designed and led by trainee curator Natalia Mladineo and senior museum pedagogue Lorka Lončar Uvodić, and Irina Čižmek also participated in the implementation.
