ANALI of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery 42-45, on 308 pages with 140 illustrations, brings 17 integral works from 29 submitted presentations from the symposium Thesaurus of Sculpture, organized by the Antun Augustinčić Gallery Augustinčić and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, held from 25 to 27 October 2023 at the Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec with the aim of comprehensively examining the complexity of the issue of creating a thesaurus of sculpture – both from art-theoretical and linguistic aspects – and contributing to the synthesis of basic guidelines for its creation. As a reminder of the conference, basic information and the program of its holding are attached at the end of the volume.
The collected articles were edited in accordance with the rules applicable to scientific and scientific-professional journals, and their categorization was carried out according to the prescribed instructions for the evaluation of scientific articles – among the 17 published articles are 4 preliminary communications (L. Križaj, K. Škarič, A. Vlatković, D. Zec), 5 sientific reviews (M. Bauer, T. Boban, J. Fučkan, M. Getaldić, A. Klobučar) and 8 professional papers (J. Balog Vojak, K. Crnković, A. Dejanović, A. Kaniški, V. Meštrić, K. Orelj, R. Tekić, Z. Svrtan), and they were included in the Proceedings in the order of presentation at the Symposium.
The publication of this proceedings volume was supported by the Krapina-Zagorje County and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and will be presented by Darija Alujević, Irena Kraševac and Božidar Pejković.
ANALI of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery is a unique example of a magazine of a museum institution. Since 1981, it has been published by the Antun Augustinčić Gallery, and since 1993 by the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje – Antun Augustinčić Gallery, and over time it has evolved into a magazine that deals primarily with the issues of sculpture. Although intended as an annual, it is occasionally published as a double issue or multiple issues. This happens in the case of anniversary volumes (nos. 9-10, 19-20, 40-41) or when they contain proceedings of larger symposia held in the organization and space of the Gallery, in the desire to encourage the resolution of complex professional and scientific (museological, art-historical and theoretical) issues (nos. 16-17: Museums in Croatia today and tomorrow, 21-25: Outdoor sculpture, 28-29: Original in sculpture, 32-33/34-35: The problem of monuments - monuments today, 38-39: Sculpture in the museum, 42-45: Thesaurus of sculpture).
