The 125th anniversary of the discovery at Hušnjakovo was marked with a performance by the Trešnja Municipal Theatre

Krapina Neanderthal Museum

The Krapina Neanderthal Museum and the Trešnja Municipal Theatre in Zagreb have continued their beautiful collaboration that has been going on since 2021, this time on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the discovery of prehistoric man on Hušnjakovo. On this occasion, as part of the Summer in Krapina event, on Friday, 23 August 2024, the Museum hosted the Theater with the play "Prehistoric Men" on Hušnjakovo.

A warm and emotional story about the life of a Neanderthal family was told in front of a large number of children, as well as adults, at the original site. In this way, the audience had the opportunity to get to know our Neanderthal ancestors, whose most numerous fossil remains were found precisely in Krapina, during the research led by the famous scientist Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger. This play, directed by Radovan Ruždjak, delighted the people of Krapina and brought them back to tens of thousands of years in the distant past. In addition to the excellent acting of Silvia Mumelaš, Ivana Bakarić, Aleksandra Naumov, Dubravka Lelas, Matija Čigir and Sanja Hrenar, the authentic location of the performance also contributed to the special and unique atmosphere.
