Project ”Extention the Krapina Neanderthal Museum”

The Extension of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum project is being implemented under the Call for Project Proposals Renovation of Public Cultural Infrastructure, launched as part of the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme 2021–2027, under Specific Objective RSO4.6 – Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.

Project Objective

The objective of the project is to establish a Visitor Centre as a new functional and content extension of the existing Krapina Neanderthal Museum in Krapina through the construction of a pavilion on the Museum's roof.

The investment will expand the Museum's infrastructure and introduce new cultural and educational facilities, including exhibitions, workshops, an interactive classroom, a summer stage, a bistro and a children's playground. These facilities will enable the active participation of the wider public, with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups, including children, older people and persons with disabilities.

The project promotes accessibility, sustainable development and the digital transformation of cultural institutions, while contributing to increasing the attractiveness and capacity of the Museum as an important cultural and tourist destination.
