”With Peace for Peace” - marking the International Day of Peace in Klanjec
The Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec will mark the International Day of Peace (September 21) for the sixteenth time in a row this year with its distinctive program With Peace for Peace.
On Friday, September 19, 2025, visitors can expect a double cultural event:
- at 6 p.m., a concert by the Zagreb Soloists,
- at 7 p.m., the opening of the exhibition The Maslyk Family - in Search of Peace.
The concert will be performed by the Zagreb Soloists ensemble consisting of: Krunoslav Marić, Saki Kodama, Zvonimir Krpan, Marko Glogović, Davor Philips, Ivan Novinc (violins), Hrvoje Philips, Tajana Skorić (violas), Vid Veljak, Luka Galuf (cellos) and Antal Papp (double bass). The program includes works by W. A. Mozart, Tomislav Uhlik and Joseph Haydn.
The exhibition of the Ukrainian Maslyk family brings sculptures (Anton), paintings (Tetiana) and photographs (Sofiia) that powerfully testify to the devastation of war and the loss of the known world, but also to the personal search for beauty, values and peace. The public will be able to view them until November 23, 2025.
The Antun Augustinčić Gallery is the only museum institution in Croatia that systematically marks the International Day of Peace. The program Uz Mir za mir (With Peace for Peace) encourages dialogue with Augustinčić's monument Peace through art and connects artists and the public in different ways every year in a joint reflection on peace.
The implementation of the program was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Krapina-Zagorje County and is under the patronage of the President of the Croatian Parliament, Mr. Gordan Jandroković.
