Wall paintings of Veliki Tabor as the theme of the Winter Workshops

Veliki Tabor Castle

This year, the traditional Veliki Tabor workshops are scheduled for January 28th and 29th from 11 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 3 pm on both days.

The inspiration for the workshops intended for school children and adults are decorative paintings from the first half of the 19th century that decorated several rooms on the first floor of Veliki Tabor. The wall paintings are characterized by a series of red, gray and ochre vertical surfaces within which floral and curly motifs are freely painted. Workshop participants will learn to transfer these motifs, in the old-fashioned way, with the help of "indigo", onto watercolor paper, and then paint them with the colors that are on the walls. From the resulting pictures, everyone will be able to make their own decorative magnet or magnetic book page marker. However, before painting and making the objects, everyone who comes to the beginning of the workshop at 11 am or 2 pm will be able, under the guidance of the museum pedagogue and author of the workshop, Kristina Pavlović, to see the wall paintings in situ, in the place where they are located.

The workshops are free, but entrance to the museum is charged.
