Antun Augustinčić – Selection of works from private and museum collections in Croatia

Antun Augustinčić Gallery

The Antun Augustinčić Gallery Studio in Klanjec will open its doors on May 3, 2024, at 6:30 PM with the exhibition Antun Augustinčić – A Selection of Works from Private and Museum Collections in Croatia. The exhibition will be open until June 9, 2024.

Until now, there has been no exhibition that would unite and provide insight into those works by Antun Augustinčić that do not exist in any version (neither as a plaster model or bronze cast, nor as a version in another material or a variant in terms of form) in the holdings of the Klanjec Gallery. It includes 27 works; from drawings, paintings, plaques and medals to sculptures in plaster, bronze, wood and stone, which are on loan from private and museum collections and cultural institutions in Hvar, Klanjec, Rijeka, Split, Varaždin and Zagreb.

The realization of the exhibition is important for a comprehensive overview of the oeuvre of Antun Augustinčić, both for the Gallery that cares for his oeuvre, and for the professional and wider public. In addition, it should be emphasized that some of the works in this exhibition have not been known in Croatia before.

The exhibition, whose author is Davorin Vujčić, is accompanied by a catalog, realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and can be viewed daily, except Mondays, during the Gallery's working hours.
