Faces in Klanjec
Opening of the exhibition Faces in Klanjec featuring works from the sculpture workshops, as part of the Autumn Thanksgiving Festival in Klanjec
The exhibition Faces in Klanjec presents a selection of sculptural works, predominantly ceramic portraits, created through various educational and creative programmes at the Antun Augustinčić Gallery.
The works are presented according to the programmes through which they were created. One section features works by students of Bedekovčina Secondary School studying for the qualification of assistant ceramic maker, created as part of an educational programme that has been held at the Gallery for four consecutive years. This year's workshops focused on creating portraits and self-portraits, with particular emphasis on shaping and painting the eyes. The portraits were created using ceramic and glazed ceramic techniques.
The exhibition also includes works created as part of the joint programme Creative Reflection: Art, Mental Health and Tradition in the Heart of Zagorje, organised by the Krapina-Zagorje County Institute of Public Health, the Museums of the Croatian Zagorje and Antun Mihanović Primary School in Klanjec.
Also on display are works by participants in the Friday Workshops programme, which has brought together pupils from Antun Mihanović Primary School in Klanjec through sculpture workshops since 2017. The exhibition is further enriched by portraits created during the Summer Sculpture Workshops, in which children and their parents take part together.
The exhibition opens on 3 October at 5.30 pm and will be on display until 3 December 2026. The exhibition was curated by Petra Šoltić, Senior Curator (Educator).
We look forward to welcoming you!
