Guest exhibition of the Museum of Slavonia - Nature and Technology

Krapina Neanderthal Museum

On the occasion of International Museum Day, an interesting exhibition "Nature and Technology" was opened in the Krapina Neanderthal Museum. It is a guest exhibition of the Museum of Slavonia from Osijek, which was created through an interdisciplinary approach in connecting natural history and technical museum materials, and interprets the relationship between man and nature in a unique way. The exhibition reveals natural forms, functions and structures as sources of inspiration for the design of numerous tools and objects. That is why at the exhibition you will find numerous examples of biomimicry, objects that imitate nature in their shape, function and structure, for example, pliers with wide jaws are displayed next to a crowned duck, a typewriter is next to a butterfly, and next to a computer mouse you will find two cheerful house mice.

At the opening ceremony in the Krapina museum, authors Ksenija Katalinić and Sanja Vidović, museum advisers of the Museum of Slavonia, introduced the guests, among whom the most numerous were high school students from the Krapina High School, to the concept and content of the exhibition. The entire program of the exhibition was led by Eduard Vasiljević, head of the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, and the director of the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje, Jurica Sabol, declared the exhibition open.
