Photo exhibition ”Silk Road” opened in Krapina Neanderthal Museum
On 20 March 2024, an exhibition of photographs by leading Chinese photojournalists, entitled "Silk Road – A New Look", was officially opened in the Krapina Neanderthal Museum. The exhibition, which presents a new view of the landscapes and cities through which the famous Silk Road has passed since ancient times, with the aim of connecting the Mediterranean and East Asia, was organized by the Croatian-Chinese Friendship Society in cooperation with the Krapina-Zagorje County and the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje.
Different products such as spices, silk, glass and porcelain were exchanged along the Silk Road, but also different ideas, religions and cultures traveled along it. Connecting different cultures is the purpose of this traveling exhibition, which introduces visitors to Chinese culture and tradition, beauties of nature, people and customs through impressive photographs.
The director of the Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje Jurica Sabol, the president of the Croatian-Chinese Friendship Society Andrija Karafilipović, the prefect of the Krapina-Zagorje County Željko Kolar and the mayor of the city of Krapina Zoran Gregurović spoke at the opening ceremony, and the ambassador of the People's Republic of China H.E. Qi Qianjin declared the exhibition open.
