”Iva JAPEC – Luka KIRIN – Kristijan POPOVIĆ” exhibition opened

Antun Augustinčić Gallery

The Antun Augustinčić Gallery Studio in Klanjec opened the exhibition Iva JAPEC – Luka KIRIN – Kristijan POPOVIĆ on Friday, November 14, 2025.

The collaboration between the Antun Augustinčić Gallery and the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb has been fruitful for the fifteenth year in a row and each year results in an exhibition of talented sculpture graduates in the Klanjec Gallery. This year's exhibition presents three young people who approach sculpture in accordance with their own preferences: through reliance on traditional figuration, new technologies that encourage experiments, and works of immanent social provocation.

Iva Japec (Zagreb, 1999) graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2025 in the class of Assistant Professor of Art Nikola Vrljić. She cultivates traditional figuration in traditional materials and is affirming herself on the sculpture scene through her craft competence.

Luka Kirin (Zagreb, 1993) graduated from the First Technical School Tesla in Zagreb. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2025 in the class of Assistant Professor of Art Tanja Vujasinović. He works with art through experiments and 3D printed objects.

Kristijan Popović (Zagreb, 1998) graduated from the First Technical School Tesla in Zagreb. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2025 in the class of Assistant Professor of Art Predrag Pavić. He dedicated his graduation thesis to social provocation, questioning the ideas of religion, personal and social morality, commercialism and artificial intelligence.

The exhibition, accompanied by a catalogue, was realized in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. Its author is Davorin Vujčić, museum advisor and head of the Gallery.

The exhibition will remain open until January 14, 2026.
