THE MONUMENT LASTS! – Selected fragments of the Monument to the Peasants' Revolt and Matija Gubec from the holdings of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery, Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery, Klanjec

On Friday, May 5, 2023, at 7 p.m., the exhibition THE MONUMENT LASTS! – Selected fragments of the Monument to the Peasants' Revolt and Matija Gubec from the holdings of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery will open at the Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec, at Ulica dr. Ivana Broza 2.

In 1973, the Monument to the Peasants' Revolt and Matija Gubec by Antun Augustinčić was revealed in Gornja Stubica, which still attracts numerous visitors and hosts cultural events today. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Monument, we are organizing an exhibition of selected fragments (plaster models) that we keep in the holdings of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec. With the possibility of viewing interesting details that are otherwise not fully possible to see in situ, the exhibition recalls the creation and duration of one of the most popular monuments in this part of Croatia.

The exhibition, authored by art historian Davorin Vujčić, was realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and is opened until October 5, 2023.
