The Great Sculptors of Klanjec

Exhibition of children's sculptures and ceramics The Great Sculptors of Klanjec, 30. 9. – 30. 11. 2023, Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery as part of the Autumn Gratitude event in Klanjec

On Saturday, 30 September, an exhibition of children's sculptures and ceramics was opened at the Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery. The exhibition was opened by curator Dr. sc. Davorin Vujčić, museum advisor, and museum pedagogue and author of the exhibition Petra Šoltić.

The exhibited sculptures were created at children's workshops in 2023 under the leadership of museum pedagogue Petra Šoltić at the Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery. The educational program of sculpture workshops, Friday Workshops, has been gathering interested children since 2017, and a young sculptural team of elementary school students, the Klanjec Sculptors, was formed there.

The authors of the sculptures in the combined technique are the Klanjec Sculptors, now former students of the Antun Mihanović Elementary School: David Majcen, Nino Gašpar, Vjeko Vlahović and Florijan Novak. Also exhibited are works in the glazed ceramic technique that were created during the year by students of various elementary schools in workshops at the Antun Augustinčić Gallery. Some of the schools are the Antun Augustinčić Elementary School, the Zlatar Bistrica Elementary School, the Marija Bistrica Elementary School and the Ksaver Šandor Gjalski Elementary School in Zabok.
