The Museums of Hrvatsko Zagorje are conducting an operation entitled "Development of project documentation and implementation of protection measures for the Oršić Castle, Samci 64, Gornja Stubica" as part of the Call for grants for the implementation of protection measures for cultural heritage damaged in the earthquake on 22 March 2020 in the City of Zagreb, Krapina-Zagorje County and Zagreb County, which is financed from the European Union Solidarity Fund.
The goal of the operation is the structural renovation of the Oršić Castle, which includes the renovation of the castle and the equipping of the museum storage room (depot) for the storage of museum objects.
The value of the operation is 31,187,500.00 HRK and the eligible costs are 100% financed from the European Union Solidarity Fund.
The period of implementation of the operation is from 15 October 2021 to 30 June 2023.
Summary
The operation "Development of project documentation and implementation of protection measures for the Oršić Castle, Samci 64, Gornja Stubica" will restore and put into function the cultural heritage in the area affected by the earthquake. The structural renovation of the Oršić Castle includes the remedial renovation of the castle and the equipping of the museum storage room (depot) for the storage of museum objects. With the structural renovation of the Oršić Castle in Gornja Stubica, the cultural property will certainly be better protected from further natural disasters, and the Peasants' Revolt Museum will be ready to undergo a complete renovation in the coming period.
Today, the museum is the generator of many cultural manifestations in the area of Zagorje and organizes various events such as occasional exhibitions, educational workshops, promotions, theater performances, concerts, etc.
