Krapina Neanderthal Museum: A Time Machine for Everyone
The Krapina Neanderthal Museum: A Time Machine for Everyone project will be implemented from 2026 to 2028 with the aim of making cultural content accessible to all visitors and promoting the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
The project is implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Media, with co-financing from the European Union, specifically the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
As part of the project, inclusive cultural programmes will be developed for children and young people, persons with disabilities and older people, with a particular focus on the accessibility of content and the active participation of all users.
The programmes will be adapted to different user groups, including people with visual and hearing impairments and children with developmental difficulties.
As part of the project, 12 educational and creative workshops focusing on evolution, the geological past and the life of early humans will be organised, inspired by the Hušnjakovo archaeological site.
The project also includes additional training for museum staff aimed at strengthening their competences for working with different groups of visitors and further developing an accessible and inclusive museum for all.
General Objectives
- increasing the participation of vulnerable groups in cultural activities through the provision of inclusive services by cultural institutions
- strengthening the capacities of employees of cultural institutions to provide inclusive services within these institutions
Specific Objectives
- promoting participation in cultural activities among members of vulnerable groups:
- children up to 18 years of age
- young people aged 18 to 29
- people aged 55 and over
- persons with disabilities
- providing training for employees of cultural institutions
Key Activities
- educational and creative workshops (with more than 135 participants)
- four professional training sessions for museum staff
